A little background on the project…
Les Greniers de Vineuil came to life following the meeting of Arnaud, a visionary cabinet-maker and Christelle, a baker. Both were dreaming of a place hosting different activities and events where people would meet, share and enjoy time together.
This meeting happened at the time when Les Greniers de Vineuil was put on the market by its owner. It took little time to Arnaud to rally several people around the project: craftsmen, local shop owners and other citizens came to visit this magical place.
Together they started dreaming about :
A place where you could enjoy tasty cuisine made from seasonal local products,
A place where friends, clients and tourists would always find a table where they could share tea or coffee,
A place that would facilitate connections between citizens, craftsmen and local people. A place where to spend some good time discussing, playing or just enjoying each other,
A place that would display the know-how of craftsmen and producers from the area and the talent of local artists,
A place where sharing and co-working would be guiding principles.
In May 2018 during an open day, about a hundred people came to visit the place.
Together, they put in place a project to support local economy and very small businesses.
A few months later, the SCIC (a cooperative type of enterprise for collective interest) was created. Today it includes more that 200 shareholders. The 600 m2 building was bought by the SCIC in December 2018.
From December 2018 to June 2019, the Cooperative Council together with many volunteers worked hard to achieve the project.
